When I first started listening to WQAM in 1962, they were running a contest called “Bucks For Breaks”. The idea was to make up a saying in the form of “All ____ listen to WQAM because ______”, where you filled in the blanks. The one I sent in was “All good DJs listen to WQAM because they work there”. Here’s a big winner. For some contest I don’t remember, I won a quart of Ocean Spray Cranberry Juice. Here’s the letter and check stub for 56 cents to cover the cost of the juice plus tax. (Florida does not charge tax on food). Some white space removed for size.

I think this was from a “prize machine” contest. It would keep announcing different prizes randomly. When you said stop, the next prize it announced was what you won. Mine was $5 dollars and 60 cents. The check stub:

The 1963 package of jingles sung by a group called the Skipjacks. It may have been a series called “Station Break” by Tucker productions. There are over 1000 cuts including a complete set of time and temperature jingles replacing the Futursonic jingles.
